New Student Information
Welcome to The Skyhawks Band!
We are thrilled that you are are interested in participating in the award-winning Deer Valley High School Band! If you are a parent of a current middle school Band student, or a parent of a student transferring to Deer Valley HS, there are no-doubt many questions you may have concerning the transition and continued participation in Band.
Middle School Feeder Night
Middle School Feeder Night is a great way to experience what Deer Valley High School Band is all about!
Students will get to meet and hang out with future band friends, learn and play music in the stands with DVHS Skyhawks Marching Band.
What To Expect
The Deer Valley Instrumental Music Program is here to welcome you to high school life and most of all to our “Band Family”.
Summer Band
The Marching Band at DVHS is a voluntary extra-circular activity. Similar to HS Sports.
Summer Band is where it all starts and is required for everyone who wants to participate.
These mini-camps are a lot of fun and extremely important especially for students who are new to the Marching Arts. You do not want to miss these!
If you decide that Marching Band is in your future, please be sure to register for our upcoming season so we can communicate our Summer Band dates.
Instruments & Lockers
All Wind and Brass musicians will be issued a locker to store their instruments and music.
Instrument checkout will also take place on this day for students who will be using DVHS owned instruments
Communication
For students & parents:
Communication is the key to our success! The DVHS Band program has several forms of communication.
Cuttime, Slack Messenger and e-mail and our DVHS Band Calendar.
We do our very best to communicate. Please be sure to sign up for these, ESPECIALLY if you are in Marching Band.
Fun Stuff
It is the goal of The DVHS Instrumental Music Program fosters a “Band Family” mentality.
We often have Team Building events, games nights, fundraisers and other events.
These kids work extremely hard! We want them to have fun as well!
